In lieu of an actual episode this (and last week), here is a very half-assed apology: My bad.
Please find attached to this Twinkie Beyond: The Blog entry a short vidcast of my initial stroll down the capsule machines aisle in the Yodobashi Camera store in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. I hope this video finds you well. I apologize for its breadth, but I–along with not being a master cameraman–am not a very good video editor. Take note of the same video transitions being used between pictures. I totally suck.

So there’s this market on Ameyoko street(?) in Ueno. It’s directly under a JR railway but it’s awesome like finding a free DS Lite on the ground…but better yet, the DS is made of gold. Gold that can teleport you to any time and place in history. Oh, and there’s a bunch of money and hot bitches laying next to the DS too.
Yeah. It’s that awesome. Why? Because it’s an outdoor flea market/market/deli/clothier/electronics fair/arcade/crepe store/pet store that sells all of the aforementioned plus happiness. Yes, you can buy happiness in Ameyoko Market. I saw the Kanji for “Happiness – 500 billion Yen and your first born” somewhere.
So this video was taken after I had finished this delicious okonomiyaki/egg/something-or-other. It was some sort of batter (made out of awesome), seaweed shreddings, an egg (which, by the way, is the perfect food), some crazy unagi-ish sauce, and, of course, QP Mayo. QP Mayo is the shit…seriously, a critical mission of mine when visiting the Land of the Rising chin-chin Sun was to stock up on QP Mayo. Boy, did I ever. Anyway, this pancake thing was friggin’ awesome and cost less than two bucks. It rocked the…ummm…Shinto shrine.
…okay, so none of that buying happiness stuff was true.
Well, maybe. I can’t read Kanji.
No words. Just me people-watching and enjoying the ambiance. The guy in front of me with the drum set called himself “Happy Drumming.” It was quite the show. For those who have been to Shibuya, if you’re wondering where this is, picture walking out the Hachiko exit and turning towards the Tsutaya (sp?). Then look right and walk under the JR bridge. I believe that I was in front of a bus station.

For my first entry in my half-assed attempt at chronicling my trip to Japan-Land (April 1st – April 13th, 2007), I present to you Episode 02 of Twinkie Beyond: The Vidcast. It’s of me getting back from Harajuku/Ikebukuro; I want to say Day 6. I walked into my hostel room and saw that it was tidied up, so I decided to show you guys the hostel room in its (almost) purest form. Glory hole and all.
This room was insanely small. Seriously, I don’t get how the anime teens who live alone do it. I mean, I guess it makes sense ’cause it’s only one person, but come on! Six tatami and a…ummm…hallway(?) that’s the size of a DDR arrow pad? God damn. Well, I guess that’s what they get for being animated.
Anyway, expect an episode of Twinkie Beyond: The Podcast probably next week. I’m working on uploading most of my pictures up to a Flickr account that doesn’t quite exist yet. There’s a link to it on the sidebar, but I haven’t added any pictures yet. I’ll be sure to post here when I’ve got pictures up. I figure it’ll be some time before Sunday eve. What up, bitches? So, Twinkie Jackie has finally ventured into the world of vidcasting. I bought me a digital camera that I’m bringing with me to Japan-Land, so I’ve been amateur photographing it up. Here’s a quick video that I shot while parked in a Sonic parking lot. Yes, SONIC.
For you old-school listeners who remember Podcast 001 where I talked about how Sonic didn’t exist but yet they have to play those dick-tease commercials, you’ll understand.

This Sonic’s was up in assfuck Ephrata, Pennsylvania. The Wife-Friend and I were headed up to another city in PA so we decided to plan a road trip based on stopping at this Sonic’s. Let me tell you…it was fucking awesome. We made a detour back to the Sonic’s on the was home too. Too bad the bitch is two hours away from home, otherwise I’d be there every other day. That sandwich that I had in the video was awesome! It was the size of a Big Mac but cheaper and filled me up before I finished it, unlike Big Macs. Delicious. I’d punch my wife in the face and throw her in to oncoming traffic for another Sprite with a shot of orange and cherry syrup right now. Seriously.
